Falmouth Steam Tug St Denys

St DENYS was built on the Clyde in 1929 as the NORTHGATE SCOT for the Falmouth Towage Co and worked as a harbour tug in the port, until she was replaced by a diesel vessel. In 1982, she was bought by the Falmouth Maritime Museum and kept at Customs House Quay as a visitor attraction. She was also renowned for having unusual (Caprotti) valve gear, which was also used on some locomotives. She was sold in 1992 and can now be visited in Douarnenez in Brittany where I visited last week.
