Balmoral - Penarth Pier 20 June 2012

First call of the season at the Victorian seaside resort of Penarth this evening. She had started her day at Avonmouth and sailed light to Lydney and Sharpness to pick up passengers before heading to Clevedon. She then sailed down channel to Ilfracombe.

Marco Polo - IMO 6417097

The 1965 classic cruise ship Marco Polo seen departing from Cardiff this evening after a short delay due to lockgate failure. She was assisted by SMS's Nobleman and Trueman.

An afternoon outing in Cardiff Bay.

With Picaro's refit nearing completion she is now usable so to celebrate the successful fitting of two headlining board we headed out around Cardiff Bay.

Soleil d'Or

Seen outbound from Penarth Marina is my friends boat Soleil d'Or. Built in 1956 by Frank Curtis and Pape Bros of Looe, Cornwall she was built for the  Dorrien Smith family, owners of Tresco in the Isles of Scilly for use as a tender.
