A Grand Day Out!

On Sunday 10th July we boarded 'The Cornishman' at Bristol Temple Meads headed by 5029 Nunney Castle with the destination of Par.

Having had a superb run over the Devon Banks with West Coast Railway driver Ray Churchill Nunney Castle stopped for water at Plymouth.

Shortly after leaving Plymouth we cross Brunel's Royal Albert Bridge and enter Cornwall.

Departing Bodmin Parkway

Having 'downgraded' to a HST at Par we headed Westwards . . .

. . . . until we reached the end of the line, Penzance!

Gry Maritha having a weekend rest in the harbour amoungst various private boats.

Two Celtic Nations united on the mast of Ocean Warden!

Just to prove I made it there I saw what life was like on the other side of the camera!

Now back on the correct side of the camera again we see Appledore's finest creation the Scillonian III is still going strong! She will feature in Marine Modelling Magazine next month as a plan feature.

Stalled Superyacht conversion project Vega still at Penzance Harbour. Hopefully someone will take her on and realise her wonderful potential.

A variety of ships on the North Wall at Penzance (left to right) the sadn dredger Taysand, Mannin awaiting entry to dry dock and the long term Penzance resident Lady Norma, ex Seaking. Mannin was due to enter dry dock the following day.

Having spent nearly 2 hours at Penzance it was back on the HST to rejoin Nunney Castle and her return working to Bristol.

Doing what she does best - hill climbing!

Heading back across the Royal Albert Bridge and leaving Cornwall behimd.

Safely back at Bristol Temple Meads.
